Emerging Scientist is an online, print on demand, international peer reviewed journal. The journal is published by Wolters Kluwer Health Medical Research- Medknow. Emerging scientist publishes articles from diverse fields, offering a unique platform for young scientists and their faculty mentors to publish rigorous and high quality articles. The journalís full text articles are available online at http://www.emergingscientist.com. The journal allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository. The journal does not charge for submission. The journal charges low processing charges of $300 per page . For developing countries the charges are $150 per page.

Wolters Kluwer Medknow provides for long-term digital preservation through two primary partnerships, Portico and CLOCKSS.
Portico is a leading digital preservation service worldwide. The content is preserved as an archival version and is not publically accessible via Portico, but is provided when required under specific conditions, such as discontinuation of the collection or catastrophic failure of the website.
CLOCKSS will enable any library to maintain their own archive of content from Wolters Kluwer Medknow and other publishers, with minimal technical effort and using cheaply available hardware.
Ahead of Print policy
Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. Wolters Kluwer Medknow has a policy that changes will not be made after publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record.
Emerging scientist publishes articles from diverse fields offering a unique platform for students and their faculty mentors to publish rigorous and high quality articles. Emerging Scientist encourage young researchers from college students to postdoctoral fellows to publish articles based on original research or review articles based on critical review of existing literature. The journal particularly encourages young scientists and beginning faculty to publish novel ideas, hypothesis or critical evaluation of an existing hypothesis or a theory even if it challenges the status-quo. Despite the main focus of the journal is on biomedical sciences, Emerging scientist will consider articles from other branches of science such as physics, chemistry, pharmacology, applied mathematics. Additionally, Emerging Scientist welcomes manuscripts in the area of medical, clinical and health sciences from health care professionals and researchers. Articles from emerging and inter-disciplinary areas related to social sciences and humanities like Bio-ethics, legal implications of medical decisions, sociology of science will be of great interest to the journal. Primary scope of articles of interest to the journal include but not limited to mechanism of diseases; prevention and diagnosis, therapeutic strategies, epidemiologic al studies, translational research.
